Enugu Council boss donates security patrol vehicles to wards

As part of his administration’s commitment to boost security at the grassroots level, the Chairman of Enugu North Local Government Area of Enugu State, Dr. Ibenaku Harford Onoh, has handed over security patrol vehicles to various wards in the council.

Dr. Onoh made the donation on Friday during the monthly security meeting held at the Enugu North Local Government Secretariat, GRA, Enugu.

Presenting the security vehicles to the Neighborhood Watch patrol squad and other security agencies, Dr. Onoh stated that it is part of his administration’s security enhancement strategy anchored on the reinforcement of local security architecture to safeguard both the lives and property of the residents.

He stated that the act of empowering patrol units with reliable mobility and essential security equipment is an effort designed by his administration to complement the efforts of the State Government led by Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah in the ongoing fight against crime across the state.

Dr. Onoh also outlined the strategic actions of his administration to boost the operational impact of security agencies and Neighborhood Watch groups in the council.

He also reminded the security operatives that their duty is to serve with integrity and humility, respect for human rights, while also maintaining close relationships with the police and allied agencies.

“Today, we are handing over these security vehicle to you to compliment the effort of the State governor, His Excellency, Dr Peter Mbah’s ongoing fight against insecurity in the state.

“My administration is committed to boost the operational impact of security agencies and Neighborhood Watch groups in the council, we made provision of additional security equipment, intensive training programs focused on discipline, professionalism, human rights, and efficiency, and enhanced inter-agency collaboration, among others,”he said.

He however, assured that his administration will donate more security operational vehicles to the remaining wards in weeks to come so as to ensure a comprehensive security coverage in the council.

Some of the security agencies present at the presentation included the Head of DSS, NSCDC, Road Safety in the council, as well as all the Divisional Police Officers in the council.
