The burial of Elder Chief Mrs Joyce Chijioke Ukwa (née Nwankwo), who died in the United States of America, has been scheduled for Friday, January 30, 2026.
According to funeral arrangements released by the family, the burial church service will hold at the Ohafia Girls’ Secondary School (OGSS), Amaekpu Ohafia, beginning promptly at 10:00 a.m.
The service will be officiated by the Prelate and Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria (PCN), His Eminence, Most Rev. Dr Ekpenyong Nyong Akpanika, PhD.
Interment will take place immediately after the church service at her family compound in Ndi Uyo Nta, Okenkwu, Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State.
Earlier activities lined up for the burial include the arrival of her remains on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, through the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, at 11:30 a.m.
A Service of Songs in her honour will also hold on Thursday, January 26, 2026, at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 6/8 Amokwe Street, Uwani, Enugu, by 4:00 p.m.
Late Elder Chief Mrs Ukwa is fondly remembered as a devoted Christian, respected community leader and family pillar, whose life of service, faith and compassion left enduring memories among family members, church associates and well-wishers.
The deceased was the wife of elder statesman and founding member of APGA Chief Onwuka Ukwa.
