Mrs Chinyere Ofoke, Chief Executive Officer of Gold Peggy’s Travels and Tours in Ebonyi State, has been elected Treasurer of the Eastern Zone of the National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA).

Her emergence followed a closely watched and competitive election process that attracted wide interest among members of the association. Stakeholders say her victory is a proud moment for Ebonyi State and a positive development for travel professionals across the region.

The NANTA Eastern Zone covers 11 states — Rivers, Enugu, Ebonyi, Bayelsa, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Delta, Edo, Imo and Abia — and remains one of the most influential blocs within Nigeria’s travel industry.

Shortly after taking the oath of office, Mrs Ofoke expressed gratitude to members for the confidence reposed in her and pledged to manage the association’s finances with transparency, discipline and accountability.

“This is a responsibility I take seriously,” she said. “I am committed to ensuring financial integrity and working closely with the leadership team to strengthen the Eastern Zone for the benefit of all our members.”

Colleagues describe her as a focused and hardworking professional with solid business experience. As head of Gold Peggy’s Travels and Tours, she has built a reputation for diligence and sound management, qualities many believe will serve her well in her new role.

Industry observers note that her election comes at a time when members are seeking stronger financial systems and greater trust within professional bodies. They say her tenure offers an opportunity to reinforce transparency and boost confidence among stakeholders.

With her assumption of office, expectations are high that the Eastern Zone will see improved financial coordination and steady institutional growth in the months ahead.
