The Senate Deputy Chief Whip and Senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial zone Senator Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi has seek collaboration with the Chairman of Ado local government area of Benue state- Hon. Sunny Oche to ensure smooth take off of the grading and rehabilitation of the link road connecting Ebonyi and Benue states.

In a letter addressed to the Council boss, Senator Nwebonyi noted the Ebonyi-Benue-Abuja link road will open up the two states to agricultural potentials and also boost economic prosperity in the area.
Senator Nwebonyi had on assumption of office moved a motion of urgent public importance at the floor of the Senate on the need to construct the Ebonyi-Benue link road which was conceived by the colonial masters around 1958.
Addressing journalists recently, Senator Nwebonyi said that the road has been captured in the 2024 budget of the Federal Government with its construction set to commence soon. “The survey and design has also been completed.
He maintained that apart from the link road, he has also flagged off the construction of over twenty kilometers of internal roads within the four council areas in Ebonyi North Senatorial district.
Responding to the appeal, The Council Chairman of Ado Local Government, Hon Oche emphasized that the road when completed would open windows of opportunities for the two sister states.
He stated that the initiative aligns with his commitment and determination to open up rural roads especially the Ebonyi-Benue link road.
He commended Senator Nwebonyi for attracting the all-important road which he said would boost economic activities and foster unity between the two brother states adding that he would provide the needed support to ensure timely completion of the project.
The link road is expected to cut across, Isophumini, Ohagelode, Ugboenyim, Ndumbam, Nduidenyi and Onuebo villages through the Ijigban axis of Benue state.
