Authorities at the University of Calabar have expressed worry over the staggering number of unclaimed certificates in the school.
In a statement signed by the Registrar Gabriel O. Ogbe, the school said it has discovered that there are over 42,000 imagined certificates of the university in Faculties and Institutes.
“Some of these certificates dates back to the 1980s. The university management is shocked by this abnormally.”
The school has therefore directed that all those who have not collected their certificates after several years of graduation should do so immediately.
The institution warned that those who don’t comply within three months will have their names published and surcharged.
