The Member Representing Ezza South/Ikwo Federal Constituency, in the House of Representatives, Hon. Chinedu Ogah, yesterday insisted that for the five South Eastern States to produce the next President, the zone must lobby other zones.
Hon Ogah who made the disclosure in Abakaliki noted that the zone alone cannot get the exalted position without the support of other zones.
He urged the leaders of the zone to lobby other zones adding that he is fully in support of power shift to the South in 2023.
Hon Ogah enjoined the people to understand that it is not about Igbo presidency but President of the country. “I am in full support of a South Eastern person emerging as President. What we are asking is that the position be zoned to South. When it is now zoned to the South. The south will now meet to decide where it will go to”.
“There is nothing like Igbo Presidency in the constitution, what we have is the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and that is what is contained in the constitution”.
“We should lobby other zones to get south east president because the five eastern states cannot win the position without the support of other zones”.
“We should be appealing to other states and zones to give the five Eastern states a chance to produce the president of Nigeria and not Igbo President”.
On the 61st independence anniversary of Nigeria, Hon Ogah stated that the country is facing sabotage in the security Sector.
He noted that for the country to get it right, the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC must ensure free and credible election. ENDS
