The Governor of Bauchi State, His Excellency, Bala Mohammed on 27/07/214 hosted Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa, the Enugu State born former federal Permanent Secretary who recently retired from the Federal Civil Service as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Power.
Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa was the guest of the governor in Government House, Bauchi.
It was a beautiful reunion as both the Governor and Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa went down the memory lane on reminiscences, regarding their time together on the corridors of power in Abuja.
Recall that His Excellency, Bala Mohammed left the Federal Civil Service as a Director before becoming the Minister of Federal Capital Territory Administration from where he went on to win the governorship of Bauchi State in 2019.
Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa was what someone Abuja power players refer to as “Super Permanent Secretary”, having held fort as Permanent Secretary in critical Federal Ministries, such as Youths and Sports Development, Power and Federal CapitalTerritory Administration.
After his retirement from service recently, several Enugu State politicians across party lines have expressed willingness to have him run for the governorship of Enugu State in 2023 as they believe he has the requisite gubernatorial qualities to continue with the development strides and peaceful disposition of the present Governori, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
And from all indications it seems that Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa has massive followership across Enugu state.
In the recent Enugu East senatorial zonal rally organised to showcase the strength and readiness of Enugu East zone to clinch the gubernatorial slot of the state in 2023, Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa’s turnout was the envy of every other possible gubernatorial contender as his supporters in flamboyant display of strong political muscle and fantastic organisation took over the entire space of Okpara Square, venue of the rally, sending the message, loud and clear, that he is the candidate to beat.
It is now trite that the 17th June, 2021 Enugu East zonal rally has redefined the trajectory of Enugu 2023 governorship contest with the emergence of Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa as a powerful contender who, it seems, has the necessary war chest and followership needed for a shot at the contest for Lion Building.
