Ebonyi State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, has cautioned party members aspiring to elective offices against purchasing nomination forms without the consent of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.

Emegha gave the warning on Monday in Afikpo during the inauguration of the Ebonyi South Senatorial Zone chapter of the Grassroots Advocacy for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Nwifuru (GATFON).

He stressed that any aspirant who proceeds to purchase nomination forms without the governor’s directive risks wasting both time and financial resources.

Describing Governor Nwifuru as a fair-minded leader, the APC chairman noted that the governor remains committed to ensuring justice and equity across all constituencies in the state.

Emegha also urged aspirants to disregard social media hype and sponsored endorsements, assuring that due process would be followed at the appropriate time.

“Let me advise those seeking elective positions to consult the governor before purchasing nomination forms. Anything done outside his directive will amount to a waste of resources,” he said.

He further warned that payments made for nomination forms are non-refundable, cautioning aspirants against rushing into the process prematurely.

Emegha commended GATFON for promoting good governance, adding that both President Tinubu and Governor Nwifuru have delivered on their mandates and deserve re-election in 2027. He also pledged continued support for the group’s activities.

Earlier, the State Coordinator of GATFON, Barrister Patrick Anayo Mbam, said the group was established to promote the policies and achievements of the president and the governor, as well as mobilise grassroots support for their re-election.

He charged local government coordinators in the zone to take the campaign message to all wards, while the GATFON Coordinator in Edda Local Government Area, Barrister Dick Agwu Dike, assured APC leadership of their commitment to securing victory for the party and its candidates in the 2027 general elections.
