Kwankwaso made the statement on his X (formerly Twitter) account while also welcoming Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, former Kano Deputy Governor and APC governorship candidate, into the African Democratic Congress (ADC) family.
According to him, Gawuna’s defection represents a major political shift that signals the beginning of a broader realignment ahead of future elections.
“We proudly welcomed Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, former Kano Deputy Governor and APC gubernatorial candidate, into the ADC family,” Kwankwaso stated.
Describing the development as significant, he added: “Speaking before a massive crowd at his Gawuna Ward, I described his defection as a monumental and inspiring development — one that signals the beginning of a larger movement as more prominent figures join our cause.”
“I also seized the moment to issue a clear warning to those planning to disrupt the upcoming electoral process: any attempt to manipulate or undermine the will of the people will be met with strong and resolute resistance,” he warned.
The statement comes amid growing political realignments and heightened discussions around the 2027 general elections.
