Irate Youths of Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency in Ebonyi State yesterday cart away bags of rice, cartons of Noddles, sachet of salts and tomorrow paste attracted by the National Assembly members for members of the Constituency.
The items includes about 150 bags of rice, 100 cartons of Noddles, 20 bags of salt and other items were carted away by the irate Youths as the items were insufficient for the thousands of members of the community invited by the lawmaker for his 2 years anniversary and empowerment program.
Some of the youths who spoke to journalists on grounds of anonymity said that the lawmaker invited them for an empowerment program only to get to the venue to realize that the items were not even enough for one ward in the federal Constituency.
It was observed that the items assembled at the filed of the venue of the event were immediately carted away as soon as the Wife of the Governor who was the special guest of honor made her way out of the venue.
The youths swooped on the items, grabbed as many as they could and scampered with the items. The lawmaker who was visibly shocked following the actions of the youths immediately left the venue of the event.
Meanwhile, the Wife of the Governor, Mrs. Uzoamaka Nwifuru has commended Hon Eze Nwachukwu for his leadership qualities describing it as people oriented.
Mrs. Nwifuru urged the people of the area to continue to support Hon Nwachukwu and commended him for the construction of the Health Center and attracting the National Teachers Institute NTI Kaduna Study Center in Ngbo.
She noted that the Health Center and the NTI Kaduna Study Center will reduce the activities of quacks in the health sector while the Study Center will enable the residents of the area to have access to qualitative education.
In his address, Hon Nwachukwu while enumerating his achievements in the last two years maintained that the resolution of the aged long crisis between the people of Ngbo in Ohaukwu LGA and Agila in Benue State has been paramount to him.
He reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation anchored on provision of social amenities, empowerment, infrastructural development and healthcare services. Ends.
