Ahead of the August 16th Anambra South Senatorial District by election the Anambra South Senatorial District chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC has described the candidates of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, Labour Party and others as mere pretenders whose interests are to have their names in the ballot.
This is coming as over three thousand members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, Labour Party and the People’s Democratic Party PDP defects from their respective political parties to join the All Progressives Congress APC.
The party further described the Senatorial sit as one that is for experienced politicians who have over the year displayed leadership qualities and capacity to represent the people of the area.
According to the Vice Chairman of the party for Anambra South Senatorial District Chief Izuchukwu Okeke who spoke to reporters in Awka, gone are those days when people go into elective positions to learn on the job contending that the APC candidate has been a local government Chairman, and Commissioner while others have not tasted public service.
“Our political party the All Progressives Congress APC has the best and the most credible candidate compared with other candidates of other parties”
“We are not looking for someone that would go there to learn on the job and when you look at the profile of all these who claim to be in the race you would discover that Chief Azuka Okwuosa is far above and ahead of them all”
“We use this opportunity to urge the entire people of Anambra South Senatorial District to vote wisely and elect our candidate Chief Azuka Okwuosa as the man for the Red Chambers” he said.
Okeke also announced that so far over 3,000 members of other political parties have defeated to the All Progressives Congress APC in support of Azuka Okwuosa and the party’s gubernatorial candidate Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu .
“There is a mass movement going on in our party because a lot of people from other political parties such as APGA , Labour Party and the People’s Democratic Party PDP are dumping their former political party to join the APC and the number at least in Anambra South Senatorial District is over three thousand and we are still counting” he stated .
