Enugu State is currently mourning the untimely death of seven seminarians of the Catholic Church who lost their lives in an auto crash in Cross River State.
The victims, all members of the Capuchin Order serving under the Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Enugu, were returning from a visit to the Obudu Cattle Ranch when the crash occurred in the lower hill area of the Obudu region.
They were reportedly accompanied by a priest on the trip.
Identities of the deceased seminarians have been identified as:
Brother Somadina Ibe-Ojuludu
Brother Chinedu Nwachukwu
Brother Marcel Ezenwafor
Gerald Nwogueze
Brother Kingsley Nwosu
Brother Wilfred Aleke
Brother Chukwudi Obueze
The shocking news has brought grief across Catholic Churches in the South East as families, friends, and fellow seminarians struggle to come to terms with the loss.
An official message, burial arrangements as well as well as details of the accident is being expected from the Enugu Catholic Diocese.
