Following his outstanding performance as the Executive Chairman of Enugu East LGA, Engr. Pst. Beloved-Dan Obi Anike, has been Nominated for Rootswatch Distinguished Local Government Chairmen Merit Award
This nomination by Rootswatch Magazine, did not come as a surprise to Ndi Enugu East LGA who have witnessed the chairman’s exceptional leadership and development strides across different sectors, and even other Nigerians, who have heard of these developments just within four months as executive chairman of Enugu East LGA.
Achievements on areas of nomination;
On Education:
1. 50 SS1 students have been awarded full scholarship and enrolled into Ivy schools both within and outside Enugu state, under the Greater Tomorrow Scholarship Scheme(GTSS).
2. Payment of WAEC fee for 1,700 SS3 students in the 13 public secondary schools in Enugu East LGA.
3. Verification of over 500 undergraduates out of the 1000 targeted undergraduates for bursary award
4. Verification of middle level professionals(Nursing and Education students) for full scholarship.
On Rural Electrification:
1. Procurement and installation of 12 new 500 KVA transformers for communities.
2. Energizing of 3 additional transformers.
These and more were achieved within 100 days in office.
