The newly launched Agunechemba Security Squad in Anambra State has raided a suspected kidnappers’ hideout at a brothel in Akwu-Ukwu, Idemili South Local Government Area.
During the operation, two suspected kidnappers and five sex workers were apprehended.
Acting on a tip-off from local residents, the operatives demolished the one-storey building housing the suspects, in line with the provisions of the Anambra State Homeland Security Laws.
A member of the security squad revealed that the operation was prompted by credible information from concerned community members regarding suspicious activities at the brothel.
“We received reports of young men frequently visiting the brothel, arriving late in the evening and leaving early in the morning. We conducted surveillance, confirmed the information, and moved in to make the arrests. Some members of the gang are still at large, but we are determined to track them down,” the operative stated.
