National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has granted accreditation to 40 programmes offered by the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu.
The accreditation which is for 5 years takes effect from 2020/2021 session.
This came as a result of the accreditation verification visitations carried out by the Board to the Institute from 31st January to 6th February, 2021.
Consequently, the accredited programmes will be due for another visitation by the end of September, 2025.
The Rector of the Institute, Prof. Austin Uche Nweze who recalled that the issue of accreditation of these programmes had been a thorn on the flesh of the Institute, thanked God for the outcome of the excercise.
According to him, the Institute remains indebted to His Excellency Rt Hon Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for all the support.
The Governor provided all that was needed to ensure that the Institute passed, the Rector said.
“In addition, the joy can’t be complete without saying thank you to the Governing Council led by Deaconess Mrs Ifeoma Nwobodo, Management, Staff and students who contributed in no small measure towards the success of the accreditation exercise,” the Rector further said.
