Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi has assured the people of South East region of Federal Government commitment towards addressing the insecurity challenges in the region.
Senator Umahi maintained that 2025 will mark a significant turning point in the efforts of the Federal government towards improving security in the zone.
The immediate past Governor of Ebonyi State made the disclosure in a posted he made in his Social media handle obtained by journalists in Abakaliki, the State capital.
“It was my pleasure to host the Izzi Nnodo Youth Forum at my country home, Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, yesterday. The visit was a yuletide gesture to share the joy of the season and express gratitude for my role in supporting equity which was instrumental to the emergence of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru as the Sheriff of Ebonyi State.
“During the visit, I used the opportunity to assure the people of South East that the federal government is committed to addressing the security challenges facing the region.
‘I stated that 2025 will mark a significant turning point in our efforts to improve security in the zone.
Governor Umahi noted that the administration of Governor Francis Nwifuru has promoted peace and tranquility in the State.
“‘While I commended Governor Nwifuru’s leadership, which has promoted peace and tranquility in Ebonyi State, I also emphasized the importance of supporting the government at the centre, led by, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure more democracy dividends for the South East region.
He noted that he was honoured by the visit of the group adding that the visit was heartwarming and a show of gratitude, too. I am grateful for the opportunity to engage them.
