The Member Representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, Hon Chinedu Ogah has distributed food items, wrappers and cash worth over N200million to constituents of the two local government areas.
Comrade Ogah who is also the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Reformatory Institutions made the distributions at his country home, Item Amagu, Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
The gesture by the Federal Lawmaker is part of his 2024 Christmas and Boxing Day celebrations with his constituents.
The items distributed included different sizes of bags of rice, onions, and Indomie Instant Noodles, were also accompanied by wrappers and cash gifts.
The lawmaker maintained that the gesture was an annual event which normally gives him an opportunity to appreciate his people who voted him to power.
“It is not the first time we are doing this, I organise this event annually to thank my constituents. It is usually an opportunity for me to appreciate them for voting me to the position of power,” he explained.
“I promise to further make my constituents happy by attracting more dividends of democracy to them. You know that I have a plan to provide them with farm inputs during next year’s farming season, to fight against food insecurity in our area.”
He commended President Bola Tinubu and Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State for their respective contributions to fighting the hardship confronting the nation through their various empowerment programs.
He noted that the Ebonyi State governor, Francis Nwifuru, has made significant progress in improving the lives of Ebonyi people, adding that he has come to complement the efforts of the governor, by attracting constituency development projects.
According to him, “the cash and food items which were disbursed here today, were aimed at supporting the state government’s initiatives and ensuring that no one in the community goes home without essential provisions.”
The event pulled a large number of representatives of various community groups in the constituency, including executive members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State.
