… Corpse Yet To Be Removed 3 Days After

A yet to be identified middle aged man was said to have been electrocuted while attempting to vandalize and steal transformer cable at No.3 Onogoro street Abakaliki, Ebonyi state capital.
Residents of the area were attracted to the scene of the incident following the already oozing from his lifeless body which was lying inside the transformer fencing.
A resident of the area who spoke to journalists on ground of anonymity said that the oozing corpse has scared residents away as shop owners and other residents of the area has abandoned the area to avoid epidemic.
She added the incident has attracted officials of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company and different teams of Nigeria Police Force to the scene but regretted that the abandoned corpse of the deceased is yet to be removed three days the man was found in the transformer premises.
She appealed to the Ebonyi state Government and the security agency to come and evacuate the corpse as the corpse has turned a threat to residents of the area who are faced with the oozing dead body.
When contacted the Ebonyi State Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Joshua Ukandu confirmed the incident and said that efforts are ongoing to evacuate the corpse.
