…Set to Commission Chuba Okadigbo Airport Runway

Ebonyi state government has announced the proposed visit of the wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu to the State tomorrow as the State marks the end of the week long activities of the Ebonyi Women’s Day celebration.
The Wife of the President who is expected to arrived the State through the Chuba Okadigbo international Airport Onueke, Ezza South Friday will also commission the Airport Runway reconstructed by the administration of Rt. Hon Francis Nwifuru to an internationally accepted standard.
The Airport runway adjudged to be the longest airport runway in the South East region was reconstruction with the estimated sum of 17.8 billion.
Speaking on the visit, the State Commissioner for Aviation and Transport Technology, Mrs Ngozi Obichukwu shortly after a courtesy call by the Department of Security Service DSS and other security operatives on routine surveillance of the Airport, said that the state government is fully prepared for the commissioning.
She said that the commissioning of the runway by the wife of the President, sen. Oluremi Tinubu will mark the recommencement of full flight operation at the airport.
Obichukwu said that the asphalted Chuba Okadigbo’s airport runway is the longest in the SouthEast region, and therefore called on travellers to come to Ebonyi to take their flight, especially in this Christmas period.
“I had an audience with the DSS on routine surveillance of the International Airport Onueke in preparation for the commissioning of the asphalted runway by the wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
“Chuba Okadigbo airport has fully recommenced flight operations and we call on the general public, travellers to come here and take their flights. This is because we have the best and longest runway in the southeast region” she stressed.
She further commended the enormous efforts of the state governor, Francis Nwifuru in ensuring that the runway is completed and being of intentional standard.
