NSCDC Parade 5 Suspects Over Alleged Rape, Illegal Possession Of Petroleum Products and Public Assets

The Ebonyi State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corp, NSCDC yesterday paraded 5 suspects alleged to have been involved in rape, possession of large quantities of highly inflammable petroleum products otherwise known as fuel, and merchandise/scrap dealers who specialize in stealing public and private assets.

Parading the suspects, Newly deployed Commandant of the Corp, Mr. Francis Nnadi said that the suspects were arrested at different locations in the State and were brought to the command for interrogation and questioning.

Mr. Nnadi assured residents of the State his readiness to partner with all stakeholders to ensure the security of lives and properties of the citizens and the protection of public and private assets.

Nnadi who resumed office five days ago at the Command’s headquarters in Abakaliki says he will rejig operational strategies in line with the Commandant-General’s agenda of ensuring professionalism in the fight against criminality

Nnadi who is the 20th Commandant in Ebonyi State Command further disclosed that he will work closely with sister security agencies to fight criminal activities and ensure security across the 13 Local Government Areas of Ebonyi State.

He hinted that operatives of the Command will soon commence day and night patrols as well as deploy Non-kinetic approach in crime fighting.

One of the suspects, a truck driver, Mr. Peter Amakaeze said that he was contracted by one Abuchi to convey scraps from Abakaliki to Benin city before he was accosted by NSCDC officials and brought to the station.
