The Campaign Council of the Nkanu East Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has expressed profound gratitude to the people of the local government area for the overwhelming support given to the party in the just-concluded local government council election in the state.
The PDP noted that the election of the party’s chairmanship candidate, Hon. Okechukwu Edeh, and his running mate, Paul Okwor, as well as the party’s victory in all the 14 wards of Nkanu East LGA was a testament to the trust reposed in the party, assuring the people that the PDP would continue to deliver democracy dividends to them.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Director-General of the Campaign Council, Hon. Okey Mbah, on Monday.
“On behalf of the Nkanu East Campaign Council and PDP, I convey heartfelt gratitude to the good people of Nkanu East for the overwhelming support given to all our candidates in the September 21st 2024 local government council polls. Re-electing Hon. Okechukwu as your Council Chairman, alongside Paul Okwor as your Deputy Council Chairman, is an affirmation of PDP’s trailblasing performance in the leadership of Nkanu East. Your massive votes for our 14 councillorship candidates is a loud statement that Nkanu East is PDP.
“Rest assured that your support and goodwill will never be taken for granted. Our team will work hard to consolidate on the great work being done at the grassroot by our amiable governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah,” Hon. Okechukwu said.
He enjoined the people of Nkanu East to continue to pray for their new leaders and the governor.
