Traditional rulers from Awgu Local Government Area, Enugu State have passed a vote of confidence on the Local Government Chairman Hon Pedro Nwankwo.
The royal fathers have thus withdrawn an earlier ‘vote of no confidence’ in a New Year Peace Accord made available to the media.

Chairman of the Awgu Traditional Rulers’ Council HRH Igwe Cyprian Nevobasi, Eze Ani 111 of Maku Ancient Kingdom who announced the reconciliation described what happened as a misunderstanding between father and son.
Igwe Nevobasi noted that the Chairman has shown character, humility, understanding and preparedness to address issues that brought misunderstanding between the parties.
“It was a misunderstanding between a father and son, but it’s now over.
“We had issues before now but we have sat together and resolved with better understanding.
“We didn’t accuse the chairman of fraud, we only said he didn’t fulfill promises made to traditional rulers. But now he has started addressing those promises.”
Also speaking on the development, Secretary of the Traditional Rulers’ Council Igwe J.A Okeke said it’s not out of place for a son and father to disagree, “but we merely disagreed to agree. We were not quarreling; it was a temporary misunderstanding which has been addressed.”

The Council Chairman Hon Pedro Nwankwo on his part expressed joy that things are back on track describing the traditional rulers as fathers.
He said; “It’s not out of place for father and son to have issues but the most important thing is the ability to reconcile and ensure there is peace afterwards which is necessary for the growth and development of our Local Government Area.
“For me, I will blame all that happened to the gap in communication; but I am happy it’s all over now and we are back on track.
