Enugu APC Reps candidate for Nsukka/Igbo-eze Federal Constituency, Ejike Omeje has vowed to re visit the establishment of S/East Development Commission if elected in 2023.
The APC candidate disclosed this in an interview with journalists shortly after the inauguration of his campaign office along Aku road in the university town of Nsukka.
He promised to collaborate with other colleagues from the S/East geo political zone to introduce the bill for the establishment of S/East development commission .
Omeje before emerging the All Progressive Party (APC) candidate for Nsukka/ Igbo-eze federal constituency single handedly facilitated the employment of over 200 graduates from Nsukka zone both in federal and private establishments.
Omeje also promised to make youth and women empowerment a priority if elected.
He said that his campaign would be focused on developmental of the constituency, assuring that he would put the peoples interest above his own personal interest.
“As I inaugurate my campaign team led by Mr Ejiofor Agada, the Director General of my campaign and others as LG ward coordinators I can assure you that the good people of Nsukka/Igboeze-South will never regret their trust in me as accountability, transparency and effective representation would be my watchword.
“I will give priority to youth and women empowerment as well as issues on education, health and agricultural ,”he said.
Omeje who was the former National Sales Manager, Evans Pharmaceuticals Plc said that he had severally intervened in the health, education and other needs of the people in his private capacity in the constituency.
Also speaking, Agada, the campaign DG, described the candidate as marketable product because of his enviable track records.
“His humane disposition and philanthropist gestures to the youth and to the less privileged speak volumes of his candidacy.
“Omeje has been donating drugs quarterly to Edem-Ani community cottage hospital in Nsukka LGA for many years till now” he said.
Earlier, Mr. Augustine Alumona, the Enugu State Vice-chairman of APC said that he had known Omeje for a very long time, adding that the party had absolute confidence that Omeje would emerge victorious in the 2023.
“Alumona described the candidate as a man of integrity and honour based on his philanthropy of love among others which is second to none in the annals of history in various communities of the constituency.”
