As part of sustained efforts to beef up security in the council area the Awgu Local Government Council of Enugu has procured 2 Sienna Vehicles and 10 Motorcycles to aid the local vigilante.
Others security items provided by the Council leadership includes Security gadgets, Communication Gadgets, Rain-Coats, Helmets among others.

Handing over the items to the Awgu Local Government Neighborhood Watch and Forest Guards the LGA Chairman Hon Pedro Okwudili Nwankwo said the materials will help increase their efficiency and effectiveness in the discharge of their duties.
He noted that it is part of the primary responsibility of the Council to ensure adequate security of lives and property in Awgu LGA.
Hon Nwankwo noted that his administration has sustained collaboration with other security agencies across the State, to provide security for the people.
This he said is in keeping with the promise he made to the people during his swearing in 2022, that his administration will maintain unabridged funding of the Local Government Security architecture.
In a vote of Thanks, the Chief Security Officer Awgu LGA, Dr. Stanley Uchenna Ezediuto thanked the Chairman for his timely intervention and sustained efforts towards empowering Awgu LG security outfit.
He reassured the commitmemt and dedication of the personnel to keep the local environs safe and peaceful in liason with other Security Agencies.
Those at the event were the DPO Awgu, DPO Owelli Court, CSIO SSS, DO Civil Defense and the members of Awgu LG Stakeholders, comprising Deputy Chairman Awgu LGA, Hon. Lotachukwu Ogbonnia (Esq.), the former House of Assembly member Awgu South, Hon. Nelson Iloabuchi Uduji.
Others are the PDP Chairman Awgu LG, Hon. OKAY Nathan Udeh “Mgbeokweluike,” the Secretary Awgu LGA, Hon. Linus Maduka, the Leader Awgu Legislative Assembly, Hon. Udeh Chukwuemeka and other Ward Councilors, the Administrator Awgu Central and Anike Development Center, Hon. Maximus Oha and Hon. Ndubuisi Nwankwo respectively.
Also present were the Supervisors of Awgu LG: Works (Rt. Hon. Gideon Okolo); Health (Hon. Nkiru Okafor), Education/Youths/Sports (Hon. Reuben Nwabueze Nwonwu), Agriculture (Hon. Ikenna Basil Okolie), Hon. Emma Uduji.
