Former Nkanu East Local Government Chairman Pastor Sam Iyiogwe has said that he actuality joined politics because of former Enugu Governor, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani.

In an exclusive chat with EverydayNewsngr.net, Iyiogwe noted that his interest has been how to bring transformation to the abandoned people of Idodo Zone. (Amankanu Area.)

“Somehow, I saw what Chimaroke was doing, the attacks and fights against him, and I had a calling to go and support him; that actually brought me into politics.

“Thereafter he gave some of us opportunity to serve in one position or the other. Ordinarily, I have no business being in politics.

“In 2019 when Chimaraoke Nnamani was to go to Senate being from Nkanu West. Then House of Representative position was zoned to someone also from Nkanu West, I asked a question in the stakeholders meeting when no one else did.

“I asked why House of Representative shouldn’t go to Nkanu East since West had taken Senate, but I didn’t know that the Governor Rt Honourable Ugwuanyi had a better plan for us.

“Incidentally, Nnoli Nnaji was given ticket for House of Representative and he has proved himself worthy of that position. I can tell you that he has done excellently well. There is no Community in Nkanu East and West that has not gotten one project or more from him.

“I can also tell you that Senator Chimaroke Nnamani is doing very well. He was a governor for eight years and he did very well in terms of infrastructural provisions and human empowerments. The Ebeano political platform we have today is his making and he worked and showcased himself by providing infrastructure for the people of Enugu State.

“He recognized and rewarded loyalty and service, but in the Senate he sees whatever he is bringing to the zone as minor projects, he doesn’t make noise about them.

Second building

In my community he built two school buildings unannounced within one month. The Principal of the school didn’t know who did projects. Two buildings, no noise, no advertisement. He sees them as nothing, having played a bigger role in the entire State. On the floor of the Red Chambers, you see him making quality contributions for the good of our people.

“The more he stays there the better for our people. I must say that Dr. Chimaraoke Nnamani has done much for Nkanu East, especially for the Amankanu zone by giving full support for the emmergnce of our brother, Barrister Peter Mbah. Giving him the opportunity to work for him, to prove his competence, loyalty, humility and dedication to duty which has brought him to where we are today. I am sure that he will put all these attributes into working for the transformation of our State to the next level when he takes over in May 29, 2023.”
