Fiery Enugu Catholic priest and Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry Emene Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka has washed his hands and that of the Adoration Ministry off threat to kill Bishop Callistus Onaga of the Enugu Catholic Church.
Following the ban stopping Catholics from attending Adoration, Fr. Mbaka had shutdown the Ministry, causing the congregation to embark on a peaceful protest within the Adoration ground.
A psychiatrist patient well known in Enugu, Elijah, who hangs around the Adoration ground, in a viral video threatened to kill the Bishop anywhere he finds him.
In an exclusive chat with EverydayNews Fr. Mbaka described the statement as that of a mad man.
Mbaka said the Adoration Ministry never at anytime tried to attack the Bishop. “So if it will be possible security agents should arrest Elijah.
“Everyone in Enugu knows Elijah is a mad man. A man who walks around on barefoot and at times naked .
“It’s an utterance from a mad man not the Adoration people. The adorers are lovers of the Bishop.
“Fr. Mbaka wishes to distance himself from such claim. That it is not true and will never be true.
“Nobody should regard that as it is a statement that came from a psychiatrist patient.
“The same person who will tell me to make him Bishop or he will kill me,’ or that he wants to be Governor or Local Government Chairman and if I don’t, he will kill me. Is that the man we are talking about.”
Mbaka said he wouldn’t have responded to the utterances of Elijah because nobody in Enugu will take him serious. But for the interest of people outside Enugu who may be deceived.
Last Wednesday Fr. Mbaka appeared at the Adoration and urged the people to love the bishop and warned them against speaking against the bishop in whatever manner.
EverydayNews can confirm that Ejijah has some level of insanity. He is well known in Enugu especially around Government circles as a great nuisance who can say anything, anytime even to the governor.
It’s our view that only enemies and mischief makers would fly such video.
This has exposed efforts in some quarters to take advantage of the situation to attack Fr. Mbaka and close the Adoration Ministry.
