A founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Enugu State Chief Ben Alukwu has accused Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike of deceiving the people of the South East.

Ben Alukwu

In an exclusive chat with EverydayNewsngr.net in Enugu Alukwu (Onye Eze)  alleged that the Rivers Governor personally selected the National Secretary, Sylvester Anyanwu, to make way for his Presidential ambition.

Alukwu who questioned Wike’s insistence that the National Party Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu should resign questioned the zone he is fighting for.

The former Acting Local Government Chairman opined that Wike is planning to move the National championship position to the South West insisting that if Ayu goes the South East should take the position.

This he said would be part of efforts by the party to placate the zone for denying it the Presidential ticket.

“Wike did not treat us fine when the zoning committee was set up. He rooted for zoning to the South rather than the South East who have not produced the President.

“That was the reason Governor Dave Umahi left the party because he saw the plot. It was the same thing with Mr. Peter Obi.

“So we wanted the Presidency, not just for the South, but the South East. Did Wike contest because it was open or because it was the turn of the South?

“For me as one of the oldest members of the PDP in the South East, Wike is merely heating up the system. And the South East can only join him in this fight if he is fighting to bring the position of the National Chairman to South East.

“Now that he wants Ayu to go, who should produce the next Chairman, is it the South East? He should be clear let us know what he is fighting for.”
