The good people of Enugu West Senatorial District of Enugu State on Saturday stood still for the gubernatorial Candidate of the Labour Party in Enugu State Barr. Chijioke Edeoga as they made a bold statement that the people of Enugu West Senatorial District entirely have switched over to the Labour Party.
Welcoming Barr Edeoga to the kick off of the Enugu West Senatorial District Labour Party campaign at Nsude in Udi Local government Area, the Deputy Gubernatorial Candidate of the party who is also from Enugu West, Dr John Nwokeabia stated that the people of Enugu West Senatorial District turned out in their thousands to show their disenchantment with the ruling PDP in the state.
Dr Nwokeabia stated that the PDP is synonymous with lies, deciets, impunity and arrogance adding that the good people of Enugu West have turned their back on them and have taken a decision to move forward with the youths and the rest of Nigerians through the Labour Party.
The Deputy Gubernatorial Candidate lampooned the Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi administration for failing the people of Enugu State which trusted him so much adding that ‘ordinarily Ugwuanyi should have resigned honourably ‘.
Dr. Nwokeabia described as shameful the abysmal performance of the PDP administration and wondered why Enugu West was completely excluded in the scheme of things including the provision of infrastructure. He assured Barr Edeoga of total support of the people of Enugu West come 2023.
According to him, “Your Excellency , the Governor of Enugu State come May 2023, Enugu West Senatorial District have resolved to give you total support. PDP have failed us woefully and our only alternative now is the Labour Party. We will not take this opportunity for granted, we have decided to grab it with our two hands. Together with you, we shall move Enugu State forward ” he concluded.
Speaking during the Campaign Kick off, the Gubernatorial Candidate of the Labour Party in Enugu State, Barr Chijioke Edeoga expressed suprise at the huge turnout of supporters and assured the people of Enugu West that he will not take the support for granted.
Barr. Edeoga stressed the need for Enugu West to be part of the scheme of things in Enugu State adding that his love for Enugu West made him to change the status quo and pick his Deputy from Enugu West.
The Labour Party Gubernatorial Candidate stated that his government among other things will focus on Job creation, wealth creation, provision of infrastructures such as roads, water, electricity as well as creation of Saterlite Towns.
He maintained that jobs and wealth will be created by heavily investing in agriculture and agricultural value chains as well as exploring technology. Barr Edeoga also said that his administration will leverage on sports development and the entertainment industry to ensure that the youths develop their talents and become gainfully employed. Technical and enterprenural skills will be provided to the youths to enable them become even employers and put all hands on deck adding that an ideal mind is the devil’s workshop.
According to him ‘ the youths need to be properly engaged. We shall engage them in agriculture, we shall engage them in sports, we shall engage them in the entertainment industry, we shall engage them in technology, skills etc. Under my watch all hands shall be on deck. Together we shall create Enugu State of our dream.”
Barr Edeoga also stated that the Oji river power station will be rehabilitated to supply electricity to the zone while satellite Towns will be created in 9th Mile , Oji river as well as other parts of the state.
The rally which attracted tens of thousands of Labour Party supporters across Enugu West represents a very serious well constructed and written quit notice to the PDP which have been occupying the Lion Building Enugu since 1999 but have nothing to show for it except for the regime of Barr. Sullivan Chime who equally have left the PDP a long time ago.
