Ahead the 2023 electiions in state, a member of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Chima Obieze has warned that as the leader of the PDP in the state Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s humility should not be taken for granted.
Hon Obieze who represents Ezeagu constituency spoke on Wednesday when the National leadership of ‘Enugu West Patriotic conferred on him the position of’ NATIONAL YOUTH MOBILIZER, ENUGU WEST’.
The House Committee Chairman on Works, Housing and Urban Development noted that Governor Uguwanyi as the leader of Enugu State has been governing with the fear of God and humility, bringing different political divides together.
“For the First time in Enugu, there’s no political war going on in the state because we have a Governor that inspires peace and this is why we must follow him.
“Let nobody think that because Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is humble and meek, they can undermine his office, its not possible and I won’t be part of it.”
The lawmaker appreciated the enormous support of some persons that helped him attain his current political position but said it’s not enough reason to make him do things that will jeopardise the peace in the system.
“You give your gratitude to whoever that helped you but your loyalty must be to the establishment.
“As a Lawmaker, I will continue to speak for the people of Ezeagu and Enugu State in a fearless manner and demand for fairness.
“As a member of PDP, we have leadership, in Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is our leader and in the South East, the Governor is also our leader and I will follow him till the end.”
Obieze encouraged the members of the league to continue to stand for the truth as posterity will be so kind to them for ensuring there’s equity and justice.
Earlier at the well attended event, the National President of Enugu West Patriotic League, Rt. Hon. Paul Anikwe, popularly known as Tiko or Odeshi said the league is fighting to ensure that Enugu West Senatorial District isn’t pushed into a perpetual minority as a result of the ambition of few persons.
Hon. Anikwe assured that they will continue to stand with the Governor no matter the situation and will stand by any of his political decision in the state.
Speaking on the choice of Hon. Obieze for the position of National Youth Mobilizer, Hon. Anikwe said its to give honour to whom its due as he (Obieze) has distinguished himself in the affairs of the youth.
“Obieze has been spectacular in his activities concerning the youths. Right from his days in the university, he has shown great capacity in mobilizing the youths over the years.
“With his new position, he will be expected to do what he knows how to do best because this isn’t a new terrain for him. He’s a square peg in a square hole and we’re confident that his years of youthful participation will Rob off positively.”

Others are Ezeagu local government PDP Chairman, Hon. Anayo Chiude; State Coordinator Ime-Ogbe for Gburugburu, Chief Chijioke Didacus Mba, TAs to the Governor, PDP Chairman, Akama/Amankwo ward and a host of other leaders and youths from across the state.
Rt.Hon. Obieze is astute in his style of leadership and followership, God has blessed him with political guidance and wise discretion.
I admonish all his followers to be outstanding in same voice and spirit as he will lead all to the promise land.
His wise discretions did not start today,but from childhood as a charismatic leader in the catechisms, to a humble but radical student leader in the university days and finally in youth representation in the state with high level of decorum.
His programmes, engagements and accomplishments in his constituency is of no equal to others, he has been an advocate of peace right from his school days as a comrade, that is what I decipher in his speech and his value for peace.
Though am not from his constituency, I feel his impacts as an Enugu citizen.
Let the youth follow his pace, just like Moses in the bible and the Egyptian chronicle.
