
Hon Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa was honoured at the 46th Annual Synod of Methodist Church of Nigeria, Enugu Diocese on Sunday, 25th of April, 2021, held at St. John’s Methodist Church, Amechi Awkunanaw in Enugu South LGA with the Award of Excellence Performance.
His Grace Most Rev. Barr. C. N. Ede, the Methodist Archbishop of Enugu Diocese, while bestowing on Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa the Award of Excellence Performance said that Methodist Church Nigeria, Enugu Diocese, decided to honour him for being a good ambassador of Methodist Church and for his meritorious public service career where he retired as Federal Permanent Secretary, a couple of months ago.
The Chief Shepherd of the Diocese said, “Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa is an astute administrator, a technocrat of international repute, great philanthropist, humble servant leader and, above all, a God fearing man, who has equally been working in God’s vineyard”
Continuing, the Archbishop said, “Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa is our own, with whom we are well pleased, Methodist Church Nigeria is very proud to have you as our member, our diocese is planning to organize a Diocesan Thanksgiving in your honor”
Hon. Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa is the immediate past Lay President of Methodist Church of Nigeria, Agbani Diocese, who had distinguished himself in a long career of public service as former Accountant General of Enugu State, Commissioner for Agriculture, Federal Permanet Secretary in several federal Ministries including FCT Abuja.
Recently there are reports of pressure on him to have a short at the 2023 Enugu State governorship race. Political pundits believe that his extensive state wide and national connections put him in pole position in the 2023 race to the Lion Building. The social media is already awash with several groups of politicians drumming support for his possible emergence as a gubernatorial candidate in Enugu state in 2023 elections.
