Enugu – A former Local Government Chairman in Enugu State, Chief Chukwudi Fred Ezinwa, has paid a courtesy visit to Governor Peter Mbah at his country home, where he praised the governor’s leadership style and the developmental progress recorded by the state under his administration.
Chief Ezinwa, who was accompanied by members of his family, described Governor Mbah’s performance as remarkable, noting that significant progress has been achieved within just two years of his assumption of office. According to him, the governor has shown strong commitment and a clear vision toward building a “new Enugu” through strategic infrastructural and institutional reforms.
He said the pace and scale of development across the state reflect purposeful governance and a well-defined roadmap for transformation. “In two years, Governor Mbah has demonstrated uncommon dedication to the growth and modernization of Enugu State,” Ezinwa stated.
While acknowledging that meaningful change often comes with challenges, the former council chairman urged residents of the state to remain patient and continue to give the governor their full support.
He stressed that collective backing from the people is crucial to the successful implementation of government policies and programmes.
Chief Ezinwa further expressed the view that Governor Mbah deserves a second term in office, arguing that continuity would enable him to complete ongoing projects and consolidate the gains already achieved by the administration.
He also referenced the state’s rotational arrangement for the governorship, noting that each of the three zones had already completed eight years of their two-term tenures. Starting from Enugu East senatorial zone by His Excellency Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani followed by Enugu West Senatorial Zone His Excellency Barr. Sullivan Chime and Enugu North Senatorial Zone His Excellency Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
According to him, equity and fairness demand that the Enugu East Senatorial Zone which takes the first shot should be allowed for uninterrupted eight-year tenure to sustain the zoning arrangement.
“It is only fair to support His Excellency Barr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah from Enugu East to enjoy uninterrupted eight years to keep the arrangement going,” he said.
Ezinwa warned against individuals advocating for a single four-year tenure, emphasizing that the zoning agreement must be respected in the interest of peace, unity, and political stability in the state.
The visit, conducted in a cordial atmosphere, highlighted growing support among political stakeholders and community leaders for Governor Mbah’s development agenda in Enugu State.
