Former Enugu Chief of Staff Chief Mrs Ifeoma Nwobodo has dismissed rumours making the rounds that Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi paid her handsomely before he procured the PDP guber ticket in 2015.
There have been rumours that the former Chief of Staff allegedly received cash and a house in Abuja to support Ugwuanyi’s emergence as the PDP flag bearer in the build up to the 2015 general elections.
The rumour resurfaced following another round of party primary in the state with fifth columnists again alleging buying and selling of the PDP guber ticket.
Chief Mrs Nwobodo in an exclusive chat with EverydayNews decided to clarify issues and correct the misinformation which she said could only have come from the pit of hell.
Ordinarily, Nwobodo who was a PDP Senatorial aspirant in the recently concluded party primaries said she wouldn’t have joined issues, “but I am worried that this rumour has continued to gain ground.”
She categorically stated that she has never received cash nor property, “not even a plot of land from Ugwuanyi before he became governor and now that he is governor.”
Nwobodo said she wasn’t aware of any such negotiations adding that if there was any, she wasn’t part of it.
She warned those spreading such wicked rumours to desist forthwith as she would adopt any legal steps to seek redress if she is further maligned.
