Dr Uzoamaka Ogwo has been appointed the substantive University Librarian of Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) by the Governing Council of the University. She replaced Dr Jacinta U. Eze who had been in Acting capacity until March 2025.
A Chartered Librarian and an Alumnus of University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) with Masters and Doctorate degrees in Library and Information Science, Dr Ogwo was, until her appointment in March, 2025, the Librarian , *National Centre for Energy Research and Development, UNN,* and also a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Library and Information Science, UNN .
She also served in some other Tertiary and Research institutions including Bowen University (Library Department ) Iwo, Osun State and Institute of Management and Technology, IMT, (Department of Library and Information Science) Enugu.
A member of many professional associations including the *Nigerian Library Association*, NLA, and *Solar Energy Society of Nigeria* where she currently serves as the Financial Secretary, Dr Ogwo has authored many books and scholarly articles that are published in reputable journals.
Her research interests span from Cloud Computing, Digital Libraries, Open Access, Social Networking, ICT in Libraries, and Entrepreneurship in Libraries, etc.
As she has taken off smoothly for a five year tenure to give the University Library effective leadership, she brings on board a Mobile Library App she single handedly developed to enable ESUT library users have seamless access to Library services any where, anytime, without geo-physical boundaries. Also, she has to her credit the development of a Web Opac Online Public Access Catalogue which enables users to access the Bibliographic details of all library resources from any part of the globe with Internet enabled facility. ESUT Governing Council, Management and the university community in general have congratulated and wished her a successful tenure.
