Burning of houses has reportedly continued in Akpawfu Community of Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State where the activities of miscreants are gradually deteriorating into a communal conflict.

The crisis which has taken a disturbing direction of a direct conflict between Umu Odenigbo, (outcasts) and the free born (Ikenga/Amadi) continued in the troubled community Thursday night.

The Umu Odenigbo, alleged to be the aggressors, reportedly regrouped and allegedly brought in massive numbers of criminal gangs from Oruku community in the Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State.

They allegedly entered Akpawfu through Oruku and overpowered the local security men on ground.

One security man was reportedly killed while one storey building belonging to an Onitsha based business man Joseph Nnamede, (aka Eze na Enugu) was burnt down.

Also destroyed by the invading miscreants is the house of Sunday Ogbonna.

All the victims are Amadi, lending further credence to allegations that the free born are the target in the crisis.

EverydayNews reports that both parties are gearing up for what could be a repeat of the Oruku/Umuode conflict if nothing is done fast to arrest the situation.
