Medical Director, Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital Enugu, Dr. Monday Igwe Thursday made good his escape as police from Zone 13 stormed the hospital to arrest him over allegations of fraud.
The Inspector General of Police Alkali Baba had approved for Investigation a petition from a coalition of Civil Society Groups over allegations bordering on corruption and maladministration.
An impeccable source confirmed that that the Medical Director denied his identity when confronted by the visiting police sqaud.
The CMD reportedly jumped into his car and disappeared from the hospital premises as the police went to look for him in his office.
In his office, the Personal Assistant reportedly assaulted the Supol who led the team leading to a scuffle.
Our source said the secretary to the CMD later accepted to receive an invitation letter requesting the CMD to appear at the Zone 13 Police Headquarters at a later date.
According to the police invitation, Dr. Monday Igwe is expected to appear at Zone 13, Ukpo Dunuko Ofia Local Government Area of Anambra State on August 3rd, 2022.
Monday Igwe had allegedly asked the police officers to visit office of the Managing Director and ask of him denying he is not the CMD.
Among allegations against the CMD is turning the hospital into a family business employing his wife, brother and sister to head departments over their seniors.
Meanwhile, the Civil Society has called for the CMD to step aside to give room for unhindered Investigation.
