“The price of cement has changed. Dangote is now N10,500 while Supaset and Bua are selling for N12,000.00 and N13,000.00,” a cement dealer told Blueprint correspondent at Garriki market, Enugu.
“I don’t know the cause of the change in price but I think it has to do with the exchange of dollars,” another dealer said.
A builder, Ezeo said the cost of building material is depriving people from building houses.
“You can imagine that a bag of cement now sells beyond N10,000.00. Tell me how people are going to build. This is for cement alone not to talk of rods,” Ezeo said.“I thank God that I was able to finish the toilet project I started in December and I finished it early February. I thank God that I finished before the prices of cement changed,” Mrs. Sylvia Nweze, a landlady said.
