Speaker Enugu State House of Assembly Rt. Hon Edward Ubosi has been appointed to head the Central Committee for the burial of late Ezinne Lady Jane Nnamani.
In a well attended meeting of friends and mourners at the country home of Distinguished Senator Nnamani on Thursday, 18th May, 2023, the committee was officially inaugurated.
The committee is charged with the responsibility of according the former Senate President’s wife a befitting burial.
Rt. Hon. Edward Ubosi, Speaker Enugu State House of Assembly was nominated Chairman of the Committee whie Distinguished Senator
Ben Collins Ndu will act as Co-Chairman of the Committee.
Hon. Ifeanyi Nnaji and Deputy Sheriff John Egbo will serve as the Secretary and Co-Secretary of the Secretariat respectively.
Hon. Barr. Onyemuche Nnamani, who inaugurated the committee on behalf of the family, also
announced 14 Sub Committees and their members.
The Sub Committees include;
Works and Venue Sub committee to be chaired by Engr. Hon. Uche Nwobodo with Barr. Okey Ede as the Secretary;
Entertainment Sub committee (Food) to be Chaired by Hon. Deaconess Dr. Ifeoma Nwobodo with Dr. Nonso Nsude as the Secretary;
Entertainment Sub committee (Drinks) will
be Chaired by Mr. Chibuike Nwatu with Chijioke Uwa as the Secretary;
Protocol Sub committee will be chaired by Hon. Attorney Dr. Ben Nwoye with Barr. Emeka Asogwa as the Secretary;
Media and Publicity Sub committee will be chaired by Hon. Barr. Nana Ogbodo with Hon. Barr. Steve Oruruo as the Secretary;
Security Sub committee will be chaired by DCP Ogarabe with ACP West as the Secretary;
Accommodation Sub committee will be chaired by Prince Tony Nwoye with Hon. Barr. Nwabueze Ugwu as Secretary;
Logistics and Transport wil be chaired by Deputy Sheriff John Egbo with Hon. Duke Nwafor as the Secretary;
Mortuary and Related Matters will be chaired by Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Okoro with Mr. Innocent Ikonne as the Secretary;
Church Service and Related Matters will be Chaired by Very Rev. Joel Okorie with Hon. Chuks Nnam Egbo as the Secretary;
Culture and Tradition will be chaired by HRH Igwe Greg Ugwu (Ochinanwata) with Chief Mike Uwadiegwu Okwor as Secretary;
Medical Committee will be superintended by Dr. Agwu, Uniforms by Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Okoro; Live
Bands by Ulaga, Onye Army and Shidodo.
The Chairman, Central Planning Committee, Rt. Hon. Edward Ubosi thanked all nominated members for accepting to serve in the indicated committees and urged them to begin work immediately.
He extolled the virtue, life and times of Late Lady Nnamani and urged the family to accept the will of God.
He assured them that the committee will work very hard to meet the expectations of the family in giving late Jane Nnamani a befitting burial.
The chairman urged friends and well wishers to support the family financially and otherwise as it is a custom of Igbo people and Nigerians as a whole to rally round a family mourning a loved one despite one’s status in the society.
