The results of Saturday’s Governoship and House of Assembly elections in Enugu have started arriving the state Headquarters of the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC.
Other results are being expected as anxiety over who wins the Governoship position continue to grip the people across the length and breadth of the state.
The results are expected to be announced by INEC, as they come in.
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party’s Candidate for Enugu State House of Assembly, Uzo Uwani Constituency, Hon. Chukwuma Martins Ekwueme, has been declared winner of the state Assembly election.
Announcing the result, the returning officer said Ekwueme of the PDP won the state Assembly seat with 6846 votes to defeat his closest rival, the Labour Party Candidate who polled a total of 5265 votes.
“Chukwuma Martins Ekwueme, having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby returned elected,” the returning officer declared.
APGA got 293 votes, NNPP 062 votes, NRM 18 votes, SDP 1 vote, PRP 4 votes, YPP 55 votes.
