The last may not have been heard from the camp of Senator Osita Izunaso, the senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Orlu zone as he was allegedly drumming in the ears of his inner circle members to get ready for his governorship contest as he was not sure of winning the senatorial election on Saturday, February 25, 2023.
A reliable source from the inner circle in the meeting held last week at the senator’s residence at the Civic Centre in Owerri hinted our correspondent on condition of anonymity that the senator was not comfortable with the manner the party hierarchy had been handling the campaigns for the candidates, especially those of them that are running for senatorial zones in the State.

According to the source, the senator told his inner circle members that the funds for the campaigns released so far was not enough as well as not releasing it on time to enable them go to the grassroots to make huge difference.

The source said that in the present circumstance, the senator has allegedly concluded plans to forge ahead to show interest in the governorship of the State in case he fails to capture the senatorial seat which is most likely to happen on Saturday’s election.

Our Correspondent gathered that the scoop was top secret since it was meant only for the ears of the senator’s most close allies.

It could be recalled that Senator Izunaso had in the past nursed ambition for the governorship of the State, but circumstances could not permit that as he was able to be compensated with other positions.
