Fresh LG chairmen, new Commissioners expected as Ugwuanyi spreads appointment

Only a few Enugu serving Local Government chairmen are expected to return as the PDP prepares for party primary ahead the February Council elections.

According to the timetable released by the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission, party primaries for the LGA elections is scheduled to hold first week of December.

Already Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in a bid to spread appointment to those who have not been recorgnized is strongly considering a near clear out.

Already in a meeting with the Council Chairmen at the Enugu Government House Monday, Governor Ugwuanyi among other things tasked the chairmen to ensure they offset all outstanding debts and arrears.

This is part of efforts to ensure a smooth transition and handover in March.

EverydayNewsngr.net can reliably report that two Chairmen from Nsukka Zone may be favoured in the second term arrangement while a Chairman from the West who has been boastful of his close to the Governor is leading the list of those to be dropped.

Enugu East and Aninri have completed their four years tenure and will thus make way for new Candidates.

Only one Chairman is expected to make it from Enugu West.

Most of the chairmen would however be compensated with Special Adviser positions.

Meanwhile, Enugu is gearing up for the dissolution of the State Executive Council.

New Commissioners are expected as Ugwuanyi attempts to compensate some loyalists who are yet to be accommodated in his administration.

Apart from few untouchables a clear out is also being speculated in the exco to accommodate more interests.
