Enugu APC Congress: Appeal Panel meets with faction as stakeholders boycott

Cartaker Committee Chairman of the Enugu All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Ben Nwoye and other stakeholders of the party were absent in a failed reconciliation meeting with the Ward Congress Appeal Committee.

Nwoye’s group had earlier expressed loss of confidence in the Committee which operated from the same zonal office with the Minister Geoffrey Onyeama’s faction

The sitting of the panel which held at the Dome Event Center Friday was boycotted as expected.

Even the claims of neutrality by Chairman of the panel, Mr. Bernard Mikko didn’t change anything.

Mikko told journalists that he took the sitting to a neutral venue as there were contentions among the members of the party over the use of the secretriat.

He said, “The Secretariat is contentious, which you know. We took a neutral ground and the committee paid. That’s why we are here. I can show you the receipt.

“We came here for reconciliation. In every political process there must be grievances and we are appealing to all party members to see it not as quarrel but as normal political process and that it should heal and come together as one. We need each other more than any other thing.”

On why many chieftains of the party were absent from the meeting, he said they were all communicated but that some of them, including Nwoye took permission.
