MASSOB calls for suspension of the sit-at-home exercise

Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) under the leadership of Comrade Uchenna Madu has reiterated earlier position that Ndigbo must not be subjected to unnecessary and inconsequential economic slavery in disguise for propagation of Biafra.

MASSOB in a press statement signed by its National Director of Information condemned any activity that will jeopardize the security and economy of Ndigbo in Nigeria.

“Our people were harshly subjected to economic and political slavery in Nigeria, we can’t continue to inflict more economic pains on Ndigbo, Igbo economic interest must be considered first.”

MASSOB advised IPOB to reach out and build more synergy with strategic Igbo leaders for release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu insisting that declaration of weekly sit at home order and closing of major markets in Igbo land amounts to self economic destruction of Igbo businesses.

“MASSOB will continue to engage Ndigbo for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu because he is our brother. We can never support any insensitive activities that will bastardize and relegate Biafra National day commemoration which always come up on May 30th. Sit at home exercise is ceremonially cerebrated annually on 30th May.

“MASSOB acknowledged the eloquent efforts of some Igbo prominent leaders and organization including Ohaneze Ndigbo that exposed the dangers and economic disadvantages of closing down the economy of Ndigbo.”
