Former Speaker of Enugu state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Eugene Odoh will deliver the lead paper at the 2021 zonal lecture being organized by People&Politics magazine in Enugu.
His paper will X-Ray the contentious issue of zoning, power rotation and the 2023 general elections in Nigeria.
As the country inches closer to the next general elections, the issue of zoning of major positions continues to generate heated arguments across the country.
The Enugu event will be chaired by Chief Alex Ogbonnia, the immediate past Chairman of Ohaneze Ndigbo in Enugu state.
The event takes place at the Ingrace Event Centre, Rangers Avenue, Independence Avenue, Enugu on Thursday, April 1, 2021.
A statement issued on behalf of the Organising Committee by Dr. Desna Aja, said it will be a double event on the day as the lecture will be followed by the public presentation of the book, Clash of Interests, written by Sheddy Ozoene. The book, a detailed account of the state’s political development, is coming weeks before the 30th anniversary of the creation of Enugu state.
Father of the day will be the Bishop of Enugu North Diocese, Bishop Sosthenes Eze while the Book will be unveiled by the MD of Cantec Energy Services, Engr. Chris Ugwungwu and assisted by other dignitaries.
The award-winning Governor of Enugu state and leader of PDP in the entire South East of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, is expected to grace the occasion as the Chief Guest of Honour.
